Finding a good steel wine rack is not very difficult, and you can often find one that is not very expensive. Deciding on what type of rack you want can be the difficult part as steel wine racks will cost a bit more than a wooden rack, but there are a wide variety of styles to choose from and you can usually find one to fit your d¨¦cor.

Quite a few of the steel wine racks you will find are freestanding and can stand on any level, solid surface. When you decide where to put your steel wine rack, remember that it will be holding several bottles of wine which will add to the total weight, so be sure that the surface is stable before adding several pounds of weight to it. After all, the last thing you want is for your table or sideboard to collapse under the weight and break your bottles of wine open.
Usually a steel wine rack will have several ˇ°shelvesˇ± with indentations to keep the bottles of wine secure. With these racks, there will usually be at least three levels to store your wine and each will hold about nine to 12 bottles of wine.
A more unique design for a steel wine rack is a vertical strip with holes in it that attaches to a wall. The wine bottles are stored by inserting the necks of the bottles through the holes. Even though the bottles will not look very secure, they are actually held quite efficiently and even give the impression that they are almost floating in mid-air. These types of steel wine racks usually hold about 10 bottles of wine.
Steel wine racks are generally not what you would use to make floor to ceiling wine storage racks. However, for storing smaller quantities of wine that you use often in your kitchen, a steel wine rack can be the perfect choice as they also go well with just about any d¨¦cor and are very versatile. You will probably spend a little more on a steel wine rack than you would on a generic wooden wine rack, but they look classier and are generally sturdier than their wooden counterparts.
